I learned a Little Something About Receipt Contests this Year

Anyone who knows me knows I love receipt contests. I have won so many amazing prizes thanks to receipt contests. But this year the Starting Line Up contest taught me something new, to save myself some aggravation.

The Starting Line Up contest this year was so poorly run, and broke Canadian competition laws constantly. But entering their receipt contest for the second year in a row, and having to battle for them to accept an entry which I knew 100% was a legit entry taught me a lot.

If you are new to contests that ask you to make a purchase read 👉 How to enter a receipt contest online.

Save yourself this hassle when entering receipt contests

Save Yourself Rejected Receipt Contest Entry Hassles

Contests like the Starting Line Up contest, ask you to purchase 2 products on one receipt for a chance to win. The receipt you upload then has to be verified by a person who then sends you your entry.

Here comes the issue. If you are like most contest lovers you are going to enter the contest more than once. As well other adults in your home are eligible to enter to win a prize too.

Here is the scenario that taught me what not to do anymore:

Saturday morning my son and I went out to do some grocery shopping. I stopped   at a Shopper's Drug Mart on Bayfield St in Barrie, Ontario and I bought 2 Dove Men Care products to enter the Starting Line Up contest.

We then head to the other side of Barrie to a different Shopper's Drug Mart and my son buys 2 Dove products for himself to enter the contest.

2 Different locations, but each receipt looks very much the same with only two products on the receipts.

Wouldn't you know it, the contest rejected BOTH receipts saying they had been previously used. Simply because the receipts looked identical. They didn't bother to look at the business locations or even the receipt number which is unique.

No matter what communication I had with the contest moderators they wouldn't budge on the issue.

Sadly this isn't the first time I have run into this issue with other contests as well.

So I now have changed how I enter receipt contests. I make sure that if I am going to be entering a contest that asks me to purchase and I intend to enter more than once, I add another small product with my order. (Gum)  At least by doing this the receipts can't be automatically assumed to be the same receipts.

So make sure if you plan on entering a receipt contest more than once you make sure the receipts are noticeably different. It makes things easier and you save yourself the hassle of having to argue to have your entry in to win.

Wishing You Good Luck!
